Another fast night, with the windlessness more than making up for the higher than average air pressure. Congratulations to Tricia Spooner for not only placing first, but for also taking 9 seconds off of her previous database best, and also to Sylvie d'Aoust for moving into the 22's for the first time. Ten of the eleven of us who had ridden earlier 2009 WTT 15km time trials improved upon our those results, and ten people improved upon their previous databased 15km best. Topping the list of the database improvements were the Meyers-Xie family, and though the phenomenal improvement of Hugh was largely due to the fact that his only previous 15km event was the cold and windy 2009 Good Friday Time Trial, still his performance ranks very well amongst the previous PWM 15km results. Sister Bailin, now a Minime, had a ride tonight that currently puts her in 5th place in the Minime category. In terms of consistency over the years, Jean Cooper is way up there. For the 137 15km results in my database, the standard deviation of her average speeds is only 0.863. Her average speed for all these events is currently 29.846km/h which she exeeded tonight by about 0.372km/h. Way to go!
